Shalamar Barnes - Co-Owner | Chief Executive Officer | Project Manager
SMK Consulting LLC was co-founded and is co-owned by Shalamar Barnes who has fifteen years of personal experience in real estate investing. She also has a twenty-two-year career in the federal government - fourteen years of which have been in contract management as a federal contracting officer representative and seven years in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) as a Risk Manager. Shalamar also holds a Master of Science degree in project management.
Mathew Karim - Co-Owner | Chief Operating Officer | Principal Civil Engineer
SMK Consulting LLC was co-founded and is also co-owned by Mathew Karim who is an experienced consulting engineer with over 20+ years of extensive land development and civil engineering experience gained from leading complex civil engineering projects. Mathew has acquired various certifications including Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design – Green Associates (LEED), Envision Sustainability Professional (EnvSp), Certified Maryland Erosion & Sediment Control Responsible Personnel. Mathew is also a member of the Urban Land Institute – Baltimore & Washington, Washington Building Congress, and BisNow Maryland & DC.
